No. 245 Deluxe Carpet Trimmer

This tool trims excess carpet at the wall leaving just the right amount for tucking between the base board and the tackless strip. The deluxe trimmer has top-loading blade carriers that make blade changes faster and easier. The wide open throat area allows carpet to enter and flow smoothly to the blades. This reduces wadding of carpet and resistance to cutting. Comes with six shims for adjustment of cutting height and four throat adjustments for different carpet thicknesses. Wall runner is angled outward to minimize wall contact and includes a replaceable wall protector pad to prevent marking. Blades: No. 184. Net weight: 1 ½ lbs.

No. 246 Carpet Trimmer

This tool trims excess carpet at the wall, leaving just the right amount for tucking between the base board and the tackless strip. To reinsert the blade carrier, insert one of the pointed edges into a relief in a shim and lift the blade carrier to separate the shims. For throat adjustment, as the blade carrier is reinserted, locate the blade carrier dimples into any of four sockets formed on every shim. Six shims are provided for blade height adjustment, and each shim includes four sockets for throat adjustment. Blades: 184. Net weight: 2 lbs.

No. 247 Multi-Purpose Wall Trimmer

This trimmer has a rounded wall runner which allows it to trim vinyl sheetgoods net to the wall. The tool can also trim cut pile carpets. When trimming vinyl, the tool comes with an anti-friction boot to prevent it from scratching. The spring-loaded center knob for height adjustment is easy to use. Takes either slotted razor blades or hook blades. Slotted razor blades work well on vinyl, while hook blades work well on cut pile carpet. Blades: No. 308 Slotted Razor Blades or No. 996X Hook Blades. Net weight: 2 lbs.

No. 290 Seam Cutter Plus

This cutter excels on carpets with zigzag (“hydra-shift”) tufting including commercial loop pile and Berber carpets. The blade runs directly behind the center row guide. This keeps the blade away from the offset yarns at the hydra-shift “stopovers”. This prevents the yarns from being sheared, which can cause unsightly seams. The wide base keeps the blade perpendicular to the yarns, further preventing shearing. The tool can also be used as a trimmer for precisely trimming carpet up to Z-bar or vinyl molding. For Z-bar, retract the row guide and the seam cutting (slotted razor) blade, and install standard utility blades on the back side. The outer edges of the base provide variable guidance for trimming the right amount of carpet to tuck under the Z-bar, based on the thickness of the adjacent flooring. For vinyl molding, retract the row guide and slotted blade, remove a portion of the base, and install utility blades on the back side of the cutter. An interior slot positions the utility blades so they leave the right amount of carpet to tuck beneath the vinyl molding. Net weight: 1.2 lbs. Blades: Slotted razor (Crain No. 308C) and utility.
